The Lord Is Our Shepherd Download

Savior, Like A Shepherd Lead Us
Words by Dorothy A. Thrupp (1836); Music by William B. Bradbury (1859)

Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need thy tender care;
In thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use thy folds prepare:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, thine we are;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, thine we are.

We are thine, do thou befriend us,
Be the guardian of our way;
Keep thy flock, from sin defend us,
Seek us when we go astray:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Hear, O hear us when we pray;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse, and pow’r to free:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee.

Early let us seek thy favor,
Early let us do thy will;
Blessed Lord and only Savior,
With thy love our bosoms fill:
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still;
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,
Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Call to Worship – from Psalm 23

Come, walk in green pastures and follow the Shepherd.
Come, lie down in green pastures and trust the Shepherd.
Come, dine at the table of abundance and be fed by the Shepherd.
Come, dwell in God’s house and live in the Shepherd’s care.

Prayer

Father God, our Good Shepherd, you know our names; you care for us.
When we face darkness and death, walk beside us.
When we hunger for your love, fill us with your presence.
When we are fearful, feed us at your table.
May we dwell in the house of goodness and mercy all the days of our lives.
Amen.

The Lord is my Shepherd
He goes before me
Defender behind me
I won’t fear
I’m filled with anointing
My cup’s overflowing
No weapon can harm me
I won’t fear

Hallelujah I am not alone
He’s my comfort, always holds me close

He always guides me
Through mountains & valleys
His joy is refreshing
Restores my soul
Mercy and goodness
Gives me assurance
That I'll see your glory
Face to face

Your Spirit lives within me
So I will walk in your peace
Your Spirit lives within me
My Victory (My Victory)

Prayer of Confession

Good Shepherd, we take your care for granted.
In the midst of your many blessings, we complain of not having enough.
In the presence of danger, we fail to trust your abiding love.
When you set a table before us, we turn from you.
Call us back to your care and help us trust your caring presence,
that our actions may proclaim your truth.
Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives.
God forgives our failures and calls us back into the flock.

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is,
seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father
[and the Son], who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one holy universal and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayer for Others

Almighty and all–loving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; we pray for those who suffer from sickness and hurt.

Especially during this time, we pray your healing hand upon those who are sick, that you give wisdom to policymakers, skill to healthcare professionals and researchers, comfort to everyone in distress, and a sense of calm to all of us in these days of uncertainty.

This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord who showed compassion to the outcast,
acceptance to the rejected and love to those to whom no love was shown.

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power, the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord’s my Shepherd I’ll not want
He makes me lie in pastures green
He leads me by the still still waters
His goodness restores my soul

And I will trust in you alone
And I will trust in you alone
For your endless mercy follows me
Your goodness will lead me home
He guides my ways in righteousness
And he anoints my head with oil
And my cup it overflows with joy
I feast on His pure delights

And though I walk the darkest path
I will not fear the evil one
For you are with me
And your rod and staff
Are the comfort I need to know

The Mystery of the Faith

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again!

You Never Let Go
Words and Music by Beth Redman and Matt Redman

Even though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle
Of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back I know you are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear
Whom then shall I fear

Oh no you never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no you never let go
In ev’ry high and ev'ry low
Oh no you never let go
Lord you never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming
For the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know you here on the earth

I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles but until that day comes
Still I will praise you
Still I will praise you

Benediction

Nourished by the Shepherd’s abundant love, go forth to walk in the paths of righteousness.
Love one another in truth and action. May God’s abundant blessings abide in you forever.

Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise him all creatures here below
Praise him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen
